Smiles and fun are the bottom line for corporate partners
Our corporate partners are an important part of the Bright Beginnings family since they donate both financial support and volunteer time for our children and their families. We thank our recent corporate donors, including The Baxter International Foundation, CareFirst and Safeway, who provide critical financial resources for our work. We also want to thank some very special corporate volunteer groups who have volunteered with our children and parents this year — Capital One, Deloitte, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Urban Petals and Whole Foods Friendship Heights.
Our corporate friends support our bottom line with homeless children and their families in many different ways. We know that Safeway cares when our friend Eugene Peters and his colleagues from Safeway come to volunteer and donate important items for our families. They not only participated in our job fair for homeless parents but also made job offers as well. Our friends at Capital One demonstrate their corporate values in many different ways by reading to our children during Read Across America month, leading our workforce preparation training programs and engaging all their departments in providing holiday gifts and winter gear for our children. Sarah von Pollaro and her staff at Urban Petals brings her talented flower design touch and flowers to many of our special occasions for parents and teachers. She recently introduced us to the leadership team at Whole Foods Friendship Heights which has donated many of the flowers that she brings to our flower parties and her Flowers 101 classes. IBM is a new member of our corporate volunteer team and they recently volunteered their time and talent to train our staff in technology and spruce up our center. We owe special thanks to BET who donated their box at the Verizon Center for a Washington Wizards game, which launched a month of teacher appreciation activities. We still have room for you and your colleagues to join the fun. We can guarantee smiles and fun!
