The Home-Based Care Program takes our acclaimed early childhood education and family stabilization program to homeless shelters and transitional housing programs throughout the District. Home Visitors meet weekly with parents and children at their temporary homes.
New BBI parent Olivia, who enrolled at Bright Beginnings in fall 2015, describes her home based experience with Home Visitor Bianca Lopez.
“We are very thankful to meet our Home Visitor Ms. Bianca. Every Tuesday we had different types of activities. One class- painting, another- puzzle games, third- singing songs both in English and Spanish, counting numbers learning colors and so much more!
My daughter Lilly really enjoyed the lesson plans that Ms. Bianca conducted during our weekly home visits. Not only it was fun, it was very informative and Lilly learned a lot of new things from her teacher. I was also excited to lead the lessons at home on my own with my daughter.
On top of being a wonderful teacher Ms. Bianca was very understanding to our current situation, brought us diapers and warm clothing, when I shared that I couldn't afford a warm coat for Lilly. She always smiled, was very kind and genuinely cared for my child.
Ms. Bianca was true professional when working with our family. She always was on time spent our time together productively. She was extremely organized, making sure all the school related documents were filled out and submitted on time. The communication via emails and phone calls was always prompt and professional.
Before meeting Ms. Bianca I was going to enroll my child to a different daycare. The Home Based Program experience left me confident that there is no better school for my daughter than Bright Beginnings! And here we are!”
