Celebrating young children with multicultural flair
Bright Beginnings celebrated our young children throughout the month of April with multicultural activities featuring children’s music, books, dance, flowers and food from diverse countries, such as the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Guyana, Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Libya, Nigeria, Senegal and Trinidad. Our parents, children, staff and volunteers shared their cultural heritage or favorite countries in many creative ways through our Multicultural Fair, Multicultural Parade and classroom activities.
Each year, Bright Beginnings expands the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child, celebrated April 10-16, into a month long celebration of our children that focuses public attention on the needs of young homeless children and their families.
