Washington Wizards’ John Wall receives NBA Community Assist Award at Bright Beginnings, Inc.
On Thursday, June 2, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall was honored with the 2015-16 Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award, for his exhaustive philanthropic work over the past calendar year.
Wall received the award at Bright Beginnings Inc., surrounded by Monumental Sports Entertainment CEO, Ted Leonsis, community members and Bright Beginnings staff and families. This past fall, Wall donated $400,000 to BBI, dedicated to the construction of the second BBI child development center in Ward 8.
Along with his NBA Cares award, The John Wall Foundation received $25,000, which he will donate to Bright Beginnings for a new playground at the Ward 8 center.
