How You Can Help

There are hundreds of ways you can get involved and support the children and families of Bright Beginnings. Each year our program relies on hundreds of volunteers and supporters to address the needs of more than 150 infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their families.

• Volunteer

• Make a Donation

• Day-Long or Half-Day Group Activities

• Host a fundraising Happy Hour or Reception

• Participate in the Fannie Mae Foundation’s Help the Homeless Walkathon and designate Bright Beginnings as your beneficiary organization – agency code BRITB. 

• Sign up to run or walk in the Bright Beginnings' Annual 5K.

• Donate in-kind gifts during our Holiday Clothing and Gift Drive or July Parent Auction. You can also donate items to our children and families through out the year. Please contact the center before dropping off donations to determine the immediate need at (202)842-9090. Items often needed include:

• Desktop Printer
• Diapers and Training Pants (large sizes especially needed)
• Bus tokens or Metro Cards
• Gift certificates (In $10, $20 denominations to grocery and drug stores) 
• Clothes (new or nearly new) for children  birth to age five years old.
• Alarm clocks
• Umbrellas
• Children's art supplies
• Copy Paper
